About This Tour

Your day begins with a guided city tour, led by a knowledgeable local guide. You’ll explore San Francisco’s most colorful and historic neighborhoods, including Union Square, Chinatown, the Financial District, North Beach (Little Italy), Fisherman’s Wharf, Haight-Ashbury, Pacific Heights, and Alamo Square with its famous Painted Ladies. Along the way, we make 4–5 stops for photo opportunities, ensuring you capture the city’s iconic skyline and Golden Gate views.

After a short break, we continue across the Golden Gate Bridge into Marin County. A quick photo stop at the Lone Sailor Memorial provides breathtaking views of the Bay before arriving at Muir Woods. Here, you’ll have over an hour to wander through towering coastal redwoods, breathe in the fresh forest air, and experience one of Northern California’s most beautiful natural sites.

The final part of the day takes us to Sausalito, a picturesque waterfront town known for its Mediterranean charm. Stroll along the promenade, browse local art galleries, or enjoy a meal at one of its many cafés and restaurants. For those who wish, you can even stay behind and return to San Francisco later by ferry or Uber.

Frequently Asked Questions

Planning a full-day combo tour from San Francisco? These answers cover timing, pickups, Muir Woods entry, walking level, and what is included.

This is a full-day experience that combines a Muir Woods and Sausalito visit with a San Francisco city tour, with a short break between parts. A typical day starts with morning hotel pickup, includes a Golden Gate photo stop, time in Muir Woods, and Sausalito, then continues with an afternoon city tour and drop-off.

Exact pickup times and the order of the two parts can vary based on availability and traffic, so your final schedule is confirmed before the tour.

The price shown for this combo tour is $164, with discounted rates listed for seniors ($160) and children ($105). Since pricing can change by season and availability, the booking calendar is the best place to confirm your exact date.

Included: hotel pickup and drop-off (Downtown San Francisco and Fisherman’s Wharf), transportation with bottled water, a knowledgeable local guide, and the entrance fee to Muir Woods National Monument.

Not included: meals, guide gratuities, and any optional ferry, taxi, or rideshare if you choose to return from Sausalito on your own.

Yes, the entrance fee to Muir Woods is included. If any timing or access requirements apply on your date, they are handled as part of the tour plan, so you can focus on enjoying the redwoods.

Most guests stick to easy, mostly flat paths and boardwalk sections near the main grove, which makes the walk approachable for many fitness levels. The tour is stroller accessible, but it is not wheelchair accessible and boarding the vehicle involves steps.

Yes, families are welcome. Bring snacks and layers for kids, and let the team know ages when booking if a child seat or booster may be required for your group.

Pickup and drop-off are offered from selected locations in Downtown San Francisco and Fisherman’s Wharf. Your exact meeting point and time are confirmed in your booking details and any pre-tour reminder.

Expect a guided loop of major neighborhoods and photo stops. Common highlights include the Golden Gate Bridge area, Chinatown, North Beach, Fisherman’s Wharf, and additional scenic viewpoints depending on the day and traffic.

If you want to compare the standalone route, see our San Francisco City Tour.

Sometimes, yes. If Sausalito is scheduled as the final stop on your departure, you may be able to stay longer and return by ferry, taxi, or rideshare at your own expense.

If Sausalito is scheduled before the city portion, you will need to rejoin the group to continue the combo tour. Your guide can confirm what works for your specific itinerary.

Dress in layers. Muir Woods can feel cool and damp, while the city and Sausalito are often sunnier and warmer. Comfortable walking shoes, a light jacket, sunglasses, and a phone charger are smart additions.

You can cancel free up to 24 hours in advance. If you are unsure about weather or timing, it is best to book a date you can comfortably commit to and review the policy during checkout.

Send your request through our Contact Us page and tell us your preferred date, group size, and must-see stops. We will confirm timing, pickup details, and the best plan for your group.
